In a world that's always in a hurry with 30 minute lunch breaks or eating meals in the car going to and from, we've lost touch for the appreciation of food. Meaning, we eat too fast. Slow down when you eat and you'll slim down. Take in each bite with appreciation. Chew your bite at least 20 times and take a tiny pause between each bite. This gives your body enough time to produce less of the hormone called ghrelin which boosts appetite. Chewing longer can also stimulate the gut to produce peptide hormones which suppress the appetite and curb hunger. Plus, when you chew more you break down food better which may release nutrients to your blood faster and give your brain time to realize that you're full. So next time you sit down to a meal show it your appreciation by enjoying it, chewing more and breathing between each bite.
